Alumni wedding
Published 2 November 2004
Congratulations and best wishes to Ron Sun, MBA 2001, and Lisa Chu, MSc in Operational Research 2001, who were married in late September in Hong Kong.
Ron and Lisa met while studying at Lancaster, and now live in Vancouver in Canada.
After completing her MSc in Operational Research, Lisa returned to Hong Kong to work for the Chinese University of Hong Kong's Prince of Wales Hospital as a researcher analysing research data and patient survey questionnaires. Results were used to determine medical treatment effectiveness, patient response to
medications and symptoms leading to disease identification for one of the leading pediatric urology department professors.
After his MBA, Ron also moved to Hong Kong and pursued some consulting projects. He decided to return to his home base of Canada in September 2002 and worked for National Oilwell in Edmonton as a Senior Analyst and the interim General Manager.
In July 2004, he moved to Vancouver in British Columbia to assume the Director of Finance & Administration position for Ampco Manufacturers Inc. The company is a diversified company with product offerings such as advertising and fleet graphics, instrumentation panels, injection molding, decals/labels, digital advertising, LED lighting, etc.
Ron uses the lessons and theories he learnt from the Lancaster MBA everyday. For instance, he tells us that his company are at the beginning of an ERP due diligence study and he is finding himself thinking about the SSM theories in solving change resistance and to overcome obstacles.
LUMS would like to wish Ron and Lisa every happiness in their life together in Canada.
