The Times carries a feature on learning entrepreneurial skills on MBA programmes through practical work experience. The story describes the Lancaster MBA's New Venture Challenge, and quotes Frank Cave of Lancaster's Institute for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise development.

"Lancaster University Management School exposes its MBA students to the angst of running a start-up through a recently launched initiative, the New Venture Challenge. Students have to produce a business plan for a start-up venture - either a newly launched enterprise or a business still at the concept stage.

"Lancaster has built an impressive research database and employs a scout to fish for new ventures. Frank Cave, teaching fellow from Lancaster's Institute for Entrepreneurship says: 'Experience of being in at the launch of a new enterprise gives a vital insight most MBAs lack.'"
