LUMS builds for the future with new Waterside development

Lancaster University Management School is expanding, with the announcement of a new building to house four academic departments. Work on the exciting new 'Waterside' development started in July, and should be complete by Autumn 2010.

Professor Iain Densten, director of the Lancaster Leadership Centre, is quoted in a Guardian story about what constitutes good leadership. "Good leaders allow their team to think beyond what they're actually experiencing, and think beyond the problem. This requires people to feel their ideas are going to be rewarded."
Executives graduate with with flying colours

118 managers and executives from across the UK graduated from Lancaster's executive programmes recently. The graduation ceremony, on 7 July, marked yet another successful year of partnership between Lancaster University Management School and the aerospace sector.
First GDUFS students graduate with outstanding results

The first cohort of students on the '2+2' partnership degree scheme betwen Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) - one of China's top universities - and Lancaster University Management School have graduated.
Celebration of first EY degree graduates' success

Lancaster University Management School hosted a celebration lunch for the first class of EY Degree graduates, who will be moving on to join Ernst & Young UK (EY) later this summer.

Lancaster University Management School recently welcomed a high profile delegation of Chinese managers for a 10 day course about public sector management. One of the highlights was a visit to the Lancaster Young People's Service, where issues including outreach to young people in rural areas were debated with youth workers.
Honorary degree for Saatchi & Saatchi chief Roberts

Kevin Roberts, head of the global advertising agency Saatchi & Saatchi, was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws, at a colourful ceremony at Lancaster University on 16 July.
