LCMC offers studentships for Sun Yat Sen International Summer Programme 2012
Published 20 December 2011
The Lancaster China Management Centre (LCMC) is offering two studentships of £1,000 each towards the cost of international flights and accommodation for LUMS students who are successful in gaining a place on the Sun Yat Sen International Summer Programme in Guangzhou, China.
The Sun Yat Sen International Summer Programme takes place from 2-20 July 2012 and involves cross-disciplinary, cross-cultural experience and activities for students to broaden their international horizon and enhance their international competence.
For more information about the content of the Summer International Programme, please visit the ISP website: http://summerprogram.sysu.edu.cn/.
Students do not pay any tuition fees for the summer programme – these are waivered by Sun Yat Sen as part of their reciprocal exchange agreement with LUMS. £1,000 will be made available by the LCMC to contribute towards the cost of international flights and accommodation. Students will need to cover the cost of subsistence and visa costs themselves (approximately £500).
Entry Criteria
This opportunity is open to all second year LUMS students who are not already studying abroad in their second year.
Entrants must have an average GPA of at least 70%.
University policy means we are unable to make the studentship available to students who originate from China.
Entry Submission
Students who wish to apply for the ISP and the LCMC studentships should email Emma Jaremko in the LUMS International Office: e.jaremko@lancs.ac.uk
Students need to submit a statement of interest of approximately 500 words outlining their suitability and motivation for the Sun Yat Sen ISP by Monday 13th February 2012. Please note that applications received after this date will not be considered.
Applications will be judged on their merits – in the event of a close contest, applicants will be interviewed.
