Julio José Prado, who is currently taking a PhD in Management at LUMS, is featured as one of '15 outstanding lecturers from leading business schools in Latin America' in the May edition of América Economía, Latin America's leading busing magazine.

On his PhD Julio is researching firm clusters and growth, under the supervision of Dr Robert Read and Dr Hilary Ingham of the Department of Economics.

Julio was born in Ecuador, where he obtained a BA in Economics, a BA in Business Management and later a Masters in Business Management. Since 2007 he has been a full-time lecturer and research director at IDE Business School in Ecuador. He has written more than eighty articles in the last six years and seven academic case studies. He chose LUMS for his PhD due to its high research ranking, outstanding reputation and the interdisciplinary nature of the PhD in Management, which allows him to combine economics with management. After completing his PhD, he is planning to go back to Ecuador to create a research centre specialising in Latin American competitiveness and development.
