VISA CEO speaks at LUMS

Christopher Rodrigues, CEO of VISA International, presented his vision of leading change in a guest lecture in the Lancaster Leadership Centre on 7 November. "Smart leaders need to look up and down regularly. They need to know where they are going and where they have come from if they are to be effective change agents," said Mr Rodrigues.

Over 170 attended his highly interactive, provocative and stimulating talk in the Lancaster Leadership Centre on 17 November.
TOTAL UK celebrates successful management development programme at Lancaster

On 7 October 2005 TOTAL celebrated the success of its top 100 managers who have all successfully completed the company's Management Development Programme, which has been designed and delivered in partnership with Lancaster University Management School. "Every single manager within the business has the knowledge to be a successful manager and leader: our work with Lancaster University enables them to access and apply this knowledge", said Aidan Dwan, TOTAL UK's Director of Human Resources.
Coaching the coaches

The Lancaster Certificate in Coaching - launched in 2005 - has been so successful that LUMS is now recruiting a second cohort of students to begin the Certificate in February 2006. Course participant Jennifer Garrett said, "I thoroughly enjoyed the course - I found it stimulating and thought-provoking, particularly because it's broadened my knowlege of coaching practice and coaching theory."
