Sunday Times: 'Learn to develop your firm'

In a story on training for owner-managers of small businesses, the Sunday Times features Lesley Swinn, a graduate of Lancaster University Management School's LEAD programme. "The course gave me what I needed. It really helped me organise my life and teach myself how to work on the business and not in it. The difference it has made has been amazing," says Lesley.
Action learning is therapy for business leaders

Owner-managers can feel as isolated as Everest explorers when it comes to making big business decisions, according to academics at Lancaster University Management School (LUMS). To address that isolation, LUMS has launched an Action Learning programme for onwer-managerss of small businesses.

Professor Iain Densten, Director of the Lancaster Leadership Centre, is quoted in a Personnal Today story about leadership development. "Success needs to be measured long-term and based around what the organisation wants to achieve. Lots of the training should be about being adaptable and teaching managers to change styles to suit the situation or the organisation," he says.
5th successive rise in FT ranking for Lancaster MBA

The Financial Times 2008 ranking of the world's top 100 full-time global MBA programmes highlights that the Lancaster MBA has risen in the rankings for the fifth successive year, this time six places to 22nd in the world and 10th in Europe.
