Forbes' Best Business Schools 2009 ranking shows Lancaster MBA offers very different benefits to most US MBAs

Lancaster University Management School’s ranking in the world’s top 20 by Forbes’ Best Business Schools 2009 comes as no surprise to two US executives who know Lancaster’s Management School very well and who can put it in a US context.
Dick Peterson – now CEO of Reflective Learning LLC, after many years as a senior executive in the US insurance industry – has commented on several occasions that he thinks more US students should look closely at Lancaster’s management and business degrees because of the value and international experience they offer. He also believes that many parents of US students would be interested too in the value and safe environment offered by Lancaster. He said:
“Lancaster University Management School has it all: a first-class business education – graduate and undergraduate – in a highly-rated school offering the Master of Science degree in one year, among other programs; a location in England's beautiful and safe Lake District; a good value for the tuition dollar; and a business school with a diverse and global student body studying in an environment of serious scholarship where English is the primary language. Few business schools anywhere can offer all this in one package.”
His comments were echoed by Tom Trezise, CEO of the JMS Group, who has been visiting Lancaster for six years and brings a broad experience of US and international corporate life, in companies such as AT&T and CSC:
“Lancaster University Management School should be considered by all those looking for a way to differentiate themselves in an increasingly competitive global work environment. With experienced and diverse graduate students, it offers a distinct advantage to those pursuing positions with global businesses and non-profits that have operations outside the US. It is also a great place for students who are looking for a school outside the hustle and bustle of a large city, but easily accessible to major cities in England and Scotland. For outdoor lovers (hikers, rock climbers, cyclists, boaters, etc.) the Lake District and the Dales are some of the most beautiful areas in the world.”
Both Dick and Tom, knowing Lancaster from close acquaintance, see that the benefits of studying at Lancaster certainly include ROI but don’t stop there. If you cannot afford the high tuition fees of most US schools, and you are looking for a more intimate experience than is possible in the very large class sizes of many leading US schools, but you aren’t prepared to compromise on student quality, then Lancaster is a very attractive option.
