Renmin UniversityThe Lancaster China Management Centre was recently pleased to collaborate with Chinese faculty at the School of Business, Renmin University of China (RBS).

RBS faculty and Chinese managers came to Lancaster in September 2009 take part in the first module, the Reflective Mindset, of the Chinese Masters in Practicing Management (CMPM), a new program from RBS which aims to engage experienced managers in China and nearby countries in reflection and sharing of experience on the practice of management. The CMPM is based on the IMPM which was cofounded by LUMS, INSEAD, McGill University and IIMB fifteen years ago.

Managers from diverse industries in China and Singapore spent seven days reflecting and sharing their experience on culture, history, strategy and context as well as visiting companies in the North West to examine their cultures. Perhaps the highlight was a day spent walking and talking in the Lake District, reflecting, in Wordsworth’s words, on ‘the spots of time’ which led them to their current positions as business leaders.
