Masters Study Abroad - a great way to enhance your international experience before embarking on your professional career
International experience has become an inherent part of university studies and more students are seeking to complement their studies with an additional study period overseas.
Lancaster has responded to the demand from Masters students by introducing an exciting opportunity to spend three to four months in one of our partner institutions and experience a new academic and country culture, learn a new language and establish contacts within a wider graduate community.
On the Masters Study Abroad scheme, students will have a choice of courses to enrol on, depending on their personal interests, and will benefit from the fact that there are no additional fees to pay.
Partner institutions include European, such as Universidad de Deusto, Bilbao; WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management; ESCP EUROPE and Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. Students interested in studying in Asia will be given an opportunity to study in one of the most prestigious universities in China at Renmin University in Beijing, and in Taiwan at the College of Commerce at National Chengchi University in Taipei.
One of the first students to take up this opportunity was Simona Balinisteanu, a student on the MSc Advanced Marketing Management. Simona completed her summer project at Bacardi in London, and as a next step in her personal development she decided to continue her studies in Bilbao:
“Taking an additional semester in Spain has greatly contributed to my language skills and understanding of the Spanish culture and economic environment. This has a big importance if we consider that Spain is an important market in Europe for many companies, including Bacardi. I am glad that this experience and the Spanish language proficiency significantly enlarge my employment options in both Spain and Latin American countries."
