Mark Shaw, a partner with Deloitte UK, awarded the prize to Eliot for achieving the highest overall mark on the course. Mark said:
“Deloitte are proud to sponsor the annual MIT prize for academic achievement. As a global player in technology consulting we appreciate the importance of developing the next generation of young management and technology graduates. Supporting Lancaster, a top-10 university, develop this leading undergraduate programme is a key to our success in attracting top technology graduates. We look forward to continuing to support the programme through our annual prize, module involvement and the delivery of careers skills sessions.”
Due the strength of the MIT cohort, it was a close-run contest, but Eliot shaded it by a percentage point. Eliot, along with several other MIT students will graduate later in July.
Eliot spent the third year of his four-year degree working for Peugeot Citroën Automobiles in the Midlands. Following his placement Peugeot Citroën offered Eliot a graduate position and he starts his new job in September.
