The Management School offers a cross-disciplinary PhD in Management (in addition to its varied opportunities to undertake specialist research in each of the six departments). This programme allows you to take advantage of the School's research strengths and also to develop general research skills.
We offer registration on a full and part-time basis. For part-time students we would expect regular attendance at Lancaster for supervision meetings. This would normally mean once per term.
Entry requirements
For registration directly as a PhD student, you will need to hold a Master's degree with a significant research methods component. Good honours bachelors graduates can be considered for registration, but they may first need to follow the MRes or MA (by research) in the subject closest to their research topic.
Competitive University and a number of Management School studentships are available, for both UK/EU and overseas students. Studentships include the cost of the programme fees, together with a maintenance allowance.

For 2013/2014 the tuition fees for the PhD in Management are:
Full-time
UK/EU: £3,900 per annum
Overseas: £12,620 per annumPart-time
UK/EU: £1,950 per annum
Overseas: £6,310 per annum

Applicants should complete the University’s application form online. Applicants will also be prompted to upload their supporting documents online. This includes academic transcripts, references and possibly an English Language test score.
