As a non-profit research-driven organisation, we provide unbiased services to the corporate and public sector independent of methods, techniques, software products and vendors. Founded as a cross-departmental research center in 1990, our success in developing high-profile applied research with companies has led to hundreds of corporate projects. We actively recruit top graduate and PhD students to support our projects. We disseminate non-confidential findings in leading international journals and at the most reputable international conferences.
The Lancaster Centre for Forecasting, lead by past president of the International Institute of Forecasting (IIF) Prof. Robert Fildes, is actively engaged in both leading forecasting associations, IIF and IBF.
The department is also actively involved in the NN3 Forecasting Competition for Neural Networks & Computational Intelligence Methods.
