Organisation, Technology & Learning
This interdisciplinary group is headed by Professors Frank Blackler, John Burgoyne and Mark Easterby-Smith as well as by Professors Stephen Ackroyd, Brian Bloomfield and Michael Reynolds.
It has played a major role in defining the field illustrated by the establishment of two new journals of international rank (Management Learning and Organization). In the last 5 years members of the group have published 75 refereed journal articles, 49 chapters in books, 15 authored/edited books and over 120 conference presentations, many of these at highly prestigious international conferences.
The group continues the programme in organisational behaviour and management learning within a new configuration of researchers (including 8 new staff) who share interests in the emerging synergies between knowledge management, technological change and strategic and networked management learning. This work will be further strengthened by the very recent establishment of a Foundation for Management Education Chair in Management Learning. Research groups are established in four main areas:
- Knowledge Management
- The Professional/Managerial Work Group
- New Technology and Organisational Change
- Strategic and Networked Management Learning
