About us
The Gulf One Lancaster Centre for Economic Research (GOLCER), established in May 2008 from a philanthropic donation from Gulf One Investment Bank, is a hub for interdisciplinary research in quantitative aspects of economics and finance at the Lancaster University Management School.
Comprising of researchers and students from the Department of Economics as well as other global academic institutions, the research expertise of GOLCER lies in the area of Applied Econometric Modelling, Islamic Finance, Energy markets and Environmental Economics.
GOLCER provides consultancy services which facilitates collaboration with public and private organisations in the business and academic sectors. Our services include executive and software skills training, consulting services in sampling, performance improvement and risk management. The training courses are designed to equip professionals and academics with cutting edge theoretical and practical developments in the industry and are delivered by the industry’s best minds.
The research team at the centre publishes a monthly Islamic Finance bulletin which covers the global stock and commodity indices and the latest updates in the accountancy regulations in Islamic finance. We maintain close links with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and publish special reports on the GCC and the energy markets.
