Building Momentum for Strategy as Practice: Discourse & Language
Strategy as Discourse: Its Significance, Challenges and Future Directions
This forthcoming special issue of Journal of Management Studies edited by Julia Balogun of Lancaster University Management School's Centre for Strategic Management and Claus Jacobs (St Gallen Univeristy), Paula Jarzabkowksi (Aston Business School), Saku Mantere (Hanken, Helsinki) and Eero Vaara (Hanken, Helsinki) argues that as the Strategy as Practice field continues to attract growing interest there is a need to develop particular aspects of the field. Much empirical work within the field as in other areas of strategic management research is drawing upon discourse based approaches to explore the work of strategy and strategists. This special issue attempts to advance work in this area. Please see the open call for papers. The deadline for submission is the end of October 2009.
