BSc (Hons) Management Mathematics

Overview

This scheme was previously known as BSc (Hons) Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research.

In this scheme, students take courses in both Management Science and Mathematics. Hence it is suited to students with good mathematics who wish to use their maths in business and other organisations. Such students must take at least 3.5 units of Management Science, excluding the Statistics courses.

Requirements

A-levels: A(Maths or Further Maths)AB. We normally expect three A-levels. 

General Studies: Accepted as one of 3 A-levels

Scottish Highers: ABBBB (with a grade A in Maths at Advanced Higher)

International Bacc: 34pts overall with 16 pts from best three HL courses with 6 in higher level Maths

BTEC: Overall grades of DDM/DDD

IELTS: 6.5 

Candidates offered places are invited to an open day.

First Year

Majors in Management Mathematics must take MSCI 101 and MSCI 103, which together make up one Part I subject.

Other Years

Majors in Management Mathematics must take at least seven half-unit courses in the Department of Management Science, including MSCI 251, MSCI 252, MSCI 222 and MSCI 223. All courses from MSCI except for MNGT 212 are available subject to prerequisite.

Assessment

This scheme of study is assessed on the basis of 16 half-units of assessment
