BBA European Management (Spanish)
UCAS code: N2R4
Overview
![]()
The BBA in European Management is a unique four-year degree programme that gives students the opportunity of spending two years at Lancaster and two years studying and working in another country. At the end of the four years students are awarded two degrees, the Lancaster BBA in European Management and the Graduado Superior en Ciencias Empresariales from Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid in Spain.

The Universidad Pontificia Comillas (ICADE), Madrid
As a student on the BBA European Management (Spanish) (N2R4) programme, you will probably spend your first two years at Lancaster studying various aspects of management, as well as Spanish. If you are already fluent in Spanish, you may study a different language. You will be joined on the Lancaster part of the programme by students from our other three European partner institutions and by those students taking the Euro BBA with German (N2R2), Euro BBA with Italian (N2R3) and the Euro BBA with French (N2R1), thereby ensuring a truly European body and making it a truly international experience.
At the beginning of the third year the entire cohort of students transfers to one of the three European partner business schools. At ICADE in the Universidad Pontificia Comillas, Madrid in Spain you complete your management studies as well as carrying out a six-month work placement.
The reputation of this joint degree programme is well established among European employers. It aims to provide students with a sound professional and technical knowledge of management disciplines, practical managerial skills and experience and informed insight into the culture and customs of other European countries, as well as fluency in at least one other European language.
The big advantage of joining this double degree international programme is that you will be part of a community of European students who exchange ideas and information and organise social activities. The students have formed a society, LUSIPBS.
Requirements
These are guidelines rather than fixed rules to be applied in all circumstances. Applicants with non-UK and other qualifications are treated on their individual merits.
A levels: AAB. (General Studies is normally included as a full A-Level. Two AS-Levels may be considered as the equivalent of one A-Level.)
Language: applicants should possess a good grade in relevant GCSE language and preferably A level standard, however evidence of language ability is also considered.
AVCEs: up to six units can come from AVCEs.
Preferences: three A levels.
Key Skills: not included in offer.
International Baccalaureate students will need 34 overall (with 16 points from the best three higher level courses).
Scottish Highers may be acceptable - ABBBB - but we prefer you to have extra qualifications (e.g. CSYS) as well.
BTEC - mostly Distinctions, the remainder Merits.
Advanced GNVQ may be considered - we usually require a Distinction overall plus an A-Level at Grade A.
A good array of GCSE grades is also essential for all applicants. Grade B in Maths and English is necessary.
Applicants whose first language is not English must normally achieve a mark of at least 6.5 in IELTS or 580 in TOEFL (237 in computer based test).
None of the above is applied mechanistically - the admissions tutor will also examine closely the rest of your application form, especially the reference and the personal statement.
Foundation/Access programmes for international students: we consider applicants who have completed the High School certificate in their home country with above average grades, and who follow a recognised Access or Foundation programme in the UK. For example we have accepted in the past holders of FY qualifications from Bellerbys and the Warwick HEFP, with above average grades/marks.

Most offers we make are "conditional", i.e. they depend upon your performance in A-Levels or other examinations. If we make you an offer, whether conditional or unconditional, we will at the same time invite you to an Open Day (you will be given a choice of dates).
At your Open Day you will be shown round the University by a current BBA student, attend presentations by staff and students and have opportunities to ask questions about the course, the university and student life in general. We strongly recommend that you attend one of these Open Days if possible.
