Skills & knowledge
MIT will teach you to work independently, to work in a team and to get a team to work for you. And when to do which. It will also teach you the skills to interpret and communicate complicated technical ideas to those with less technical knowledge.
Overall, the MIT programme seeks to provide students with relevant skills and up-to-date knowledge to effectively design, develop, manage and use IT. The MIT learning environment develops students’ intellectual and analytical abilities so they are equipped to respond to the endless stream of technological developments they will encounter in their work following their successful graduation from MIT.

Faculty
MIT is taught by faculty from a range of disciplines across the internationally renowned Lancaster University Management School and the University's School of Computing and Communication, based in the state-of-the-art InfoLab21 complex.

Careers
We expect our students to follow a wide range of careers. Most of our graduates work as managers, consultants, project managers, sales people and systems analysts in a variety of public and private-sector organisations across the world.  Our students will be equally well equipped to apply for general management vacancies as well as for for specific IT management roles.  Our alumni here have started careers in domains such as management consulting, technology consulting,  general management, systems analysts and teaching (via TeachFirst). Those who have taken more technical modules may prefer a more technical career and work in areas such as software development. Many students have joined the graduate programmes of leading companies such as Deliotte, Fujitsu, IBM, HP, Xerox, Peugeot and LandRover.

Some students have suggested they will become teachers, while others have chosen to extend their studies by taking an MSc.
