What is Management Science? and what sort of careers does it lead to?
Management science involves the investigation, development and application of solutions to real managerial and organisational problems, using mathematics, project management, systems thinking, and information systems design. Often, these solutions involve computerisation, and information systems and organisational change. It also requires knowledge of the industry and functional business areas.
The Department of Management Science has one of the largest number of Operational Research and Systems teaching staff in the country, with an outstanding research and publishing record.
The Department has a worldwide reputation as an international centre of excellence, with students from many countries studying on undergraduate and Masters programmes and undertaking research. Our teaching and research have both gained the highest possible ratings in the most recent assessments of teaching and research in UK universities.
The expanding facilities of the Management School make it one of the best equipped in the country, set in the wonderful surroundings of North-West England.
